Dr. Pehlivantürk graduated from Türk Eğitim Derneği Ankara College in 1978 and from Istanbul University, Istanbul Medical Faculty in 1984. She worked as an observer at the Family Physician Office between 1984-1987, in USA. She completed her child and adolescent psychiatry training at the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Department in Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine, Ankara, Turkey in 1997. She received the title of “Associate Professor” in 2004.
Dr. Pehlivantürk was the recipient of the 2000 İzmir Psychiatric Association, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Research Award and the 2009 Psychiatric Association of Turkey Professor Doctor Mualla Öztürk Child Mental Health Award. She had been a board member of the Association of Turkish Child and Youth Psychiatry between 2005-2006 and she is currently a board member for the same association.
